Bullying

Bullying

Bullying is a form of abuse where one individual or a group assert their power over another person and it can take the form of repeated physical or mental intimidation and aggression. It can occur on schools, the home or work place. It can socially isolate the person and leave deep mental scars and in extreme cases lead to suicide. It is also an activity that generally takes place in front of bystanders, who are too scared to do anything or gain some feeling of power vicariously through watching.

In these modern times, bullying is not limited to face to face contact, but is carried out via emails, text messages and mobile phones.

Victims of bullying need counselling in order to overcome their victim status, deal with the anger and fear that bullying creates and give voice to their experiences so that others may not be ignored and that bullying is taken seriously within Society.
