All babies are born confident. They cry and someone comes along and attends to their needs. However, in the process of growing up we learn either to be confident in situations or become uncertain of ourselves due to the experiences we have had. A lack of confidence can come from comparing ourselves to others, perhaps a sibling who is perceived as being cleverer, prettier or better at sports than you. It can also result from negative messages we receive from others such as a parent or a teacher. Whatever the cause we begin to believe we are not good enough.

Counselling allows the client to explore why they feel this way in a safe environment and enables them to gain insight to their behaviour.

Hypnosis is able to reframe the client’s negative perception of themselves, helping them to value their own individuality and not seek perfection, but to accept themselves as they are.
